UX Design Tip: Hold Your User’s Hand💜
In the age of trends that come and go, you may be wondering what are the time-tested and actionable User Experience (UX) tips you can implement ASAP to elevate your website's user experience. I’ve got plenty of UX tips for you to enhance the ease of your website, and here’s the first one: Hold your user’s hand.
UX Design Tip: Hold Your User’s Hand
Who’s a ‘user‘ in User Experience (UX)?
A user is anyone interacting with your website, app, or digital platform. They're real people with goals, frustrations, and needs as they navigate websites and apps. And just like in any journey, a little hand-holding goes a long way.
When a user fills out a one-page form on your website—such as a lead magnet page—it's crucial to guide them on what to do next. Don't drop off your user at a dead end wondering, "What now?"
What’s an example of good UX Design?
For example, after submission on your one-page lead magnet, instead of just saying "Thank you," provide a clear, inviting link or button that encourages them to explore your website. Do you want them to check out a relevant blog post, services, or home page? Direct them there!
Why? This approach enhances user satisfaction by making their journey seamless and supported and encourages further engagement with your content, products, or services. Essentially, you're holding their hand and guiding them to the next step, ensuring they don't feel abandoned after completing a task.
How can I help my user so they know what do to next?
Always provide a next step.
Make your website’s interactions intuitive, engaging, and, most importantly, easy for them to discover more about what you offer.
Remember, a great user experience is like a good travel experience—it should always lead somewhere interesting. Don't let your users wind up at a dead end; hold their hand and guide them to the next destination.
